As the Chief Technology Officer, joined Mobica in 2006 as a senior engineer, holding a variety of roles in engineering and management as the company has grown. The most important aspects of Jim’s day to day position would be the creation of high tech, leading edge technology solutions across Mobica’s entire customer base as well as leading Mobica’s technology strategy, focussing on technology innovation and devising customer specific solutions. He also contributes to the US team’s strategy and support a number of Mobica’s customers directly. As the first senior engineer, Jim led the earliest projects and later ran one of the original business units, growing it to over 100 staff. Jim’s role doesn’t end there; he likes being the voice of Mobica’s technical team and occasionally speaks at conferences and writes pieces appearing in journals.
He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from UMIST, and 15 years as a working software engineer before joining Mobica. Outside of his busy work life, Jim is a keen guitar player, but spends most of his time with his wife and 4 children.
