Mobica's Windows Mobile experience

  • Development of an embedded C++ application allowing remote control of a Smartphone keyboard.
  • Development of a route planning application for the MS Windows CE platform, in Visual C++, included design of extra Windows type controls and components.
  • Involvement in the development of Windows Mobile 5.0 Platform, including specifications, component design, implementation and code review, threat modelling, test plan design, testing, product release and subsequent maintenance.
  • Development of a new push e-mail messaging protocol for Windows Mobile, involving customised messaging transport and forms, and integration into Pocket Outlook to match the existing messaging user experience. Project involved extensive use of TCP/IP APIs and appropriate encryption and compression algorithms. Solution porting across all device families (Pocket PC, Pocket PC Phone Edition, Smartphone) from 2002 through v5.
  • OEM samples for Windows Mobile 2003 / 5.0, several Windows Mobile Home screen plug-ins, Scripted AT Command Serial Port application, SMS options on number dialogue.
  • Development of Enterprise solutions to run on Pocket PC, including extensive use of CEDB and ADOCE databases including synchronisation with MS Access databases desktop PC, mobile transfer of data to website via GPRS, voice and signature capture, digital camera interface, image processing, and GPS interface.
  • Application design and development of a Windows CE device interfacing with sensor modules, GPS satellite positioning and GPRS for transfer of data to a website.Development of a Windows CE application DLL interface for RFID and Barcode Scanner. The objective of this project was to provide a common application interface for both devices.
  • Prototype development of a Pocket PC device including a fully working implementation of reception and transmission of SMS messages via a mobile phone connected to each PDA (before PDAs gained built-in phone capabilities). Features included over the air configuration of phone settings.
